Wigan Warriors have sent one of their star forwards out on loan to another Super League club for the 2026 season.
Matt Peet’s side have a depth of riches in their forward pack and that’s allowed them to loan out an England international for the full duration of the 2026 season.
Wigan have confirmed that Tyler Dupree will spend the 2026 campaign on loan with Super League new boys Toulouse Olympique in a massive coup for the French outfit.
Still only 25, Dupree signed with Wigan midway through the 2023 season and was a key part of the side that won the 2023 and 2024 Grand Final.
During his two and a half seasons with Wigan, Dupree has made 62 appearances with the former Oldham and Salford man impressing whilst at the Warriors, though he seemed to fall out of favour late in the 2025 campaign.
He played in the 62-6 win over Castleford Tigers but didn’t feature in any of the Warriors’ play-off games, and now he finds himself leaving Wigan on loan for 2026.
Wigan Warriors send Tyler Dupree to Toulouse on year-long loan
A club statement confirmed Dupree’s exit, reading: “Wigan Warriors can confirm that Tyler Dupree will join Toulouse Olympique on loan for the 2026 Betfred Super League season.
“The prop forward will spend the campaign in the South of France, gaining valuable game time and experience in a new environment as part of his continued development.”
Head coach Matt Peet said: Tyler will be a great asset to Toulouse as they look to attack the Super League.
“It is a great opportunity for him to learn and develop in a new environment.”
Dupree’s loan departure could indicate that Wigan will have Tiaki Chan, who spent 2025 on loan at Salford, feature heavily as part of their plans.
Speaking on his move to Toulouse, Dupree said: “I am extremely enthusiastic and proud to join Toulouse. It’s a club with a strong culture, high standards and a genuine passion for success, and I’m grateful to be able to contribute to that.
“I want to continue to progress as a player, on and off the pitch. I hope to bring positive energy every day, contribute to the club’s culture and help promote work ethic and responsibility. As a team, I’m looking forward to playing with the other players, being competitive and ultimately bringing victories to Toulouse.”
