Super League round eight has seen several players land themselves in potential hot water with the disciplinary panel, who will meet later today.
After a week off for the Challenge Cup, Super League returned with a bang in a week that has thrown up some significant results, namely Wigan’s third consecutive competition defeat whilst both Leeds Rhinos and Wakefield Trinity racked up over 50 points.
The Match Review Panel won’t be looking at shock results though with the disciplinary review group set to meet today to see which, if any, Super League players warrant bans.
Last week saw two three-match bans and a two-match ban handed out but the events of Super League round seven seemed far less significant in respect to possible disciplinary action.
Even so, we’ve picked out a handful of incidents that could warrant a second look from the Match Review Panel.

Which players could be sweating today’s Super League disciplinary?
York Knights’ signing Xavier Va’a could be one of those worrying as he was sent to the sin bin for a tackle in which he made no attempt to wrap, something that the Match Review Panel could deem worthy of further punishment.
Also in that game was Leigh’s Joe Ofahengaue catching Sam Cook with a swinging arm late on, something that has been punished so far this season.
Wigan’s Brad O’Neill landed a high shot on a stooping player that was enough for a penalty but nothing further, though he’s a player with a number of points on his record so it would be significant even if he landed a lesser charge.
Leeds Rhinos’ Maika Sivo was the man who landed the shot that resulted in Taane Milne failing his HIA, whilst hooker Jarrod O’Connor was also penalised for a big shot that could well see action taken.
The two sin bins in Catalans surprise win over Warrington were as a result of professional fouls, something that isn’t likely to result in disciplinary action.
