Hull KR cruised to a 46-0 win over Toulouse Olympique with a disciplined performance that Willie Peters has reacted to with big praise.
The Robins led 18-0 at half-time courtesy of two late tries from Rhyse Martin and Dean Hadley, however, they started the second-half quick and kept piling the points on late with Joe Burgess scoring three minutes into the second stanza and five minutes from full-time.
Something that was particularly pleasing for Peters was the fact that his side did not panic when only leading 6-0 after half an hour, despite plenty of field position and dominance.
Reacting post-match on Sky Sports, he said: “I’m really happy with it. It was 6-0 for a while there, and I didn’t want the players to get frustrated with that, which sometimes you can.
“We had a try disallowed and probably should have had a few more points but I like that we got through that period and found some points at the back end of that second half because I thought we were really dominant for that period.
“I like what they did early and they didn’t get frustrated with just the one try.”

Hull KR boss hails clean sheet in France
The win is the fourth in a row for Hull KR with the Robins having racked up 170 points in that time whilst conceding just 26 but the fact they kept a clean sheet in France was the most pleasing aspect for Peters.
“What we value the most is the second part there,” he responded when asked about their huge points tally and their staunch defence.
“I’m really happy with that zero, it’s something that we pride ourselves on. The teams that seem to be at the top at the end of the year are the best defensive teams in the comp so we want to make sure that we keep improving that.
“It’s nice to score points, but they’ll come off the back of what we do defensively.”
Whilst only three of the four wins have come after the official confirmation of Peters’ exit, the win over St Helens came at a time shrouded in speculation and Peters was asked about his pride in the fact the players have not been distracted by talk of his impending exit.
The Australian, who will leave to coach PNG Chiefs at the end of the season, said: “I certainly didn’t want to become a disruption. I’m glad that we’ve got to move on pretty quickly. There’s a massive part of the season to come so that’s what we focused on.
“The players have got a few days off now, which is well earned. We had that planned for them and make sure that we get next week right.
“First, we’re going to get the time off right because we’ve got a game next week against Bradford at their place, which will be another difficult game.”
