Warrington Wolves sign powerhouse NRL prop with Sam Burgess factor a ‘huge draw’

Leeds Rhinos v Warrington Wolves etam news as Matt Dufty replacement named by Sam Burgess

Warrington Wolves have added more power to their forward pack for 2026 with the club announcing the signing of an NRL forward.

Toafofo Sipley will join Warrington Wolves on a two-year deal from 2026 with Manly Sea Eagles agreeing to allow the prop to leave his contract one year early.

With almost 100 NRL appearances, Toafofo will add plenty of power to a pack that has already recruited Tevita Pangai Jr for 2026.

Warrington will lose Paul Vaughan to York Knights but the 34-year-old has been more than replaced in kind with the additions of the younger duo of Pangai Jr and Toafofo, who is 30 years old.

Announcing the deal, the club confirmed: “Warrington Wolves is delighted to announce the signing of NRL prop forward Toafofo Sipley on a two-year contract from the 2026 season.

“The 30-year-old powerhouse forward brings size and aggression to the pack and is known for his explosive carries and resilient defence.”

Sipley has spent the last eight seasons with Manly, playing 95 NRL games in that time and 76 in reserve grade. He had played for New Zealand Warriors briefly before joining Manly with the forward being New Zealand-born.

At 120kg and almost 6’3, Sipley will pack a punch in the middle for Warrington and the 30-year-old has spoken on his excitement about signing with the Super League club.

He said: “I’m really excited and honoured for the opportunity to represent Warrington in Super League next season.

“It’s a club with a rich history and I feel I can add plenty of value and experience to the pack.

“To be working with Sam Burgess is a huge draw. He’s someone I’ve always respected and I’m looking forward to learning from him.

“I can’t wait to get over and meet the passionate Warrington fans.”

“We’re excited to welcome Toff to the club from next season,” added Sam Burgess.

“His size, physicality and character will be a big asset for us and he can have a big impact at Warrington.”
