Warrington Wolves host Huddersfield Giants on Saturday looking to return to winning ways and the team news has now been confirmed.
Injuries and form have helped derail Warrington’s season but they’re still only three points shy of the play-offs and with a favourable home match-up, they can get back on track.
Saturday’s loss to Leeds Rhinos marked the fourth in five for Warrington with the Wolves’ last win coming at home to Castleford ahead of the Challenge Cup Final.
They faced off against the Giants in Round One of the Super League season, winning 20-12 despite trailing at the half but both teams will be much-changed from then.
Wire will be without Matt Dufty (fractured eye socket), Matty Ashton (ACL), Danny Walker (knee), Dan Russell (loan), Arron Lindop (ACL) and Zane Musgrove (released), whilst the Giants are a lot healthier.
They came close to beating champions Wigan Warriors last weekend and will hope they can go better and earn the two points against a reeling Warrington Wolves side.
Warrington Wolves team news
Arron Lindop was confirmed to have suffered an ACL injury which will rule him out for the remainder of the season, meaning he joins Matty Ashton and Oli Leyland with that same injury.
New signing Sam Stone joins the team straight away in a boost as one of four changes. Young outside back Zack Gardner is called up in light of Lindop’s injury, whilst Luke Thomas is called up after the loan exits of Dan Russell and Tom Whitehead.
Ewan Irwin is an interesting addition as well with the young half named to the 21-man squad on multiple occassions recently, however, he could be called upon if Stefan Ratchford moves to full-back.
Forward James Harrison is another to drop out in a big loss for Sam Burgess’ side.

Huddersfield Giants team news
Adam Clune was the latest Huddersfield man to suffer an injury, however, the club have moved quickly to bring in Leeds Rhinos man Matt Frawley on loan.
That is the only change made to the squad as Luke Robinson is able to get some consistency between gameweeks, however, he’s still missing the likes of Adam Swift, Liam Sutcliffe and more.
Jack Murchie was recently released to be able to return home to Australia as well, with his exit opening the quota spot for Frawley’s addition.
