Warrington Wolves confirm Brodie Croft signing as deal length revealed

Following Leeds Rhinos’ announcement that Brodie Croft will leave them at the end of the 2026 season, Super League rivals Warrington Wolves have confirmed the 28-year-old’s signing.

Despite tabling what Ian Blease described as a ‘firm offer’, Croft will swap Headingley for the Halliwell Jones Stadium for the 2027 campaign as he looks set to replace the outgoing George Williams.

Warrington’s interest in Croft was reported by Serious About Rugby League’s sister site, The Yorkshire Evening Post, last week and things have moved fast with Leeds’ exit announcement paving the way for the Wolves to confirm the Australian’s 2027 arrival.

A club statement from Wire has confirmed that Croft will sign a three-year deal that will tie him to the club until the end of the 2029 season.

It’s a significant piece of recruitment for Warrington who will see George Williams leave the club after signing an NRL deal, whilst fellow halves Marc Sneyd and Oli Leyland are off-contract at the end of the current season as well.

For Leeds, it spells a major blow with Croft the fifth member of their first team confirmed to be leaving at the end of the year, following in the footsteps of Harry Newman, James McDonnell and Mikolak Oledzi (all Perth Bears), as well as Cameron Smith (Wakefield Trinity).

Warrington Wolves land Leeds Rhinos’ star Brodie Croft

A statement from Wire announced the news, confirming:The 28-year-old has signed a three-year deal with the Club and will remain with the Leeds Rhinos for the rest of the 2026 season before joining his new teammates in pre-season.

“With club captain, George Williams taking an opportunity in the NRL at the end of this year, the Wire have moved quickly to secure one of the competition’s best as his replacement.”

Head coach Sam Burgess said: “Brodie is a fantastic signing for our club from 2027 onwards and someone we’re excited to bring into the group.

“He’s been one of the standout performers in the competition for a number of years now. His quality, creativity and experience will be a huge asset to us from next season.”
