Wakefield Trinity v Wigan Warriors teams confirmed as Wigan dealt double boost

Wigan Warriors

Bevan French and Luke Thompson have returned to the Wigan Warriors fold for tonight’s clash against Wakefield Trinity. The Warriors sit four points off the Super League summit after Hull KR’s win on Thursday night and they’ll be looking to close that gap tonight against what promises to be a very game Wakefield outfit.

Matt Peet will be looking for an improved performance tonight too after avoiding embarrassment with a last minute try last week against Huddersfield Giants. The returns of French and Thompson certainly come as a boost then with the former missing last week with a tight calf.

The Australian starts in the halves alongside Harry Smith, while Thompson, who has been missing with a rib injury, will play the from the off, too. Last week’s hero Jack Farrimond misses out on selection, as does Harvie Hill, who was named on the bench last week.
Ethan Havard, who is not long back from a hamstring injury, drops from the starting line-up to the bench.

Daryl Powell has made three changes to his Wakefield Trinity side with Matty Russell, Mike McMeeken and Josh Rourke dropping out of the fold.

That means Lachlan Walmsley starts on the wing for Trin, while Seth Nikotemo comes into the fold to start. Cam Scott is also involved, replacing Rourke on the bench. Mathieu Cozza comes off the bench to start in place of McMeeken, while Harvey Smith replaces Liam Hood as the starting nine.

Caius Faatili starts with Isaiah Vagana dropping to the bench, with Jack Croft also moving to the bench.
