Wakefield Trinity v Catalans Dragons team news amid double injury boost

Wakefield Trinity

Both Wakefield Trinity and Catalans Dragons have received a forward boost ahead of their clash at Belle Vue on Saturday.

Front-rowers Mike McMeeken and Caleb Hamlin-Uele have been named in Wakefield’s initial 21-man squad, but luckless stand-off Jake Trueman is back on the casualty list.

McMeeken, who was this week named in England’s Ashes train-on squad, could return after two games on the sidelines with a pectoral muscle injury.

Hamlin-Uele has not played since suffering nerve damage in a shoulder during Trinity’s 24-20 golden-point extra-time loss at Catalans in April.

Trueman has been struggling with a back problem this season, but is ruled out through concussion this week. Young prop Ellis Lingard is the other player to drop out from last week’s 21 last Saturday.

Catalans’ interim-coach Joel Tomkins will select from a 20-man squad, one more than last week.

The player added is big forward Chris Satae, who will return after serving a one-match ban when Catalans ended a seven-game losing run by beating Huddersfield Giants at the Stade Gilbert Brutus.
