Struggling Salford Red Devils travel to face Wakefield Trinity on Sunday afternoon and the team news for both sides has been confirmed.
Both teams arrive in contrasting form with Salford coming off the back of heavy losses to Castleford Tigers and Hull KR, whilst Wakefield eased past Castleford at Magic Weekend and put 40 points on Warrington Wolves last weekend.
A win for Wakefield would likely see them jump into the play-offs as well whereas Salford still sit at the foot of the table, with a whopping 438 points conceded in just 11 games.
Salford head coach Paul Rowley confirmed more blows this week with Castleford Tigers recalling loanee George Hill and two of the team’s stars suffering injury, meaning it will be yet another massive task on Sunday.
Both coaches have now selected their 21-man squads for the game with key changes made by the Red Devils yet again.
Wakefield Trinity team news
Daryl Powell makes just one change to the 21-man squad he named ahead of last week’s test with Warrington and that sees Jake Trueman drop out with youngster Ellis Lingard called up for the first time in 2025.
Powell confirmed that Trueman is having more issues with an ongoing back injury, however, his misfortune means a huge opportunity for Lingard who debuted for the club in 2024.
The young prop forward acted as vice-captain for Yorkshire in the recent Academy Origin and he could earn a Super League debut this weekend.
Players such as Oliver Russell, Caleb Hamlin-Uele, Ky Rodwell, Renouf Atoni and Matty Storton all remain absent.
Wakefield Trinity 21-man squad: 1. Max Jowitt, 2. Lachlan Walmsley, 3. Cameron Scott, 4. Corey Hall, 5. Tom Johnstone, 8. Mike McMeeken, 9. Liam Hood, 11. Seth Nikotemo, 12. Josh Griffin, 13.
