The five Leeds Rhinos players set to leave in 2025 as things stand

Leeds Rhinos contract situation with Kallum Watkins out of contract

Now we’re at the halfway point of the 2025 season, it’s time to look at which players could be heading out the door, with a look at Leeds Rhinos contract situation.

There are some big names at the Rhinos currently out of contract ahead of the 2026 season, from starting forwards to out-of-favour backs.

However, with three of the four featured players currently occupying quota spots, Leeds could have their eye on some overseas signings to replace them.

Currently, there are just five Leeds Rhinos players with deals expiring at the end of the 2025 season, so let’s take a closer look.

Five Leeds Rhinos players out of contract this season

Ethan Clark-Wood

Clark-Wood was brought in to replace Maika Sivo, when the Fijian international was ruled out for the season with an ACL injury. The 24-year-old was training with Gold Coast Titans pre-season but made the move to Leeds on the eve of the Super League season back in February. However, he’s only featured once for the Rhinos back in round four so it seems unlikely that he’ll stay at the club.

Matt Frawley

Frawley has fallen out of favour with head coach Brad Arthur, opting to play Brodie Croft and Jake Connor in the halves instead. The 30-year-old has even fallen behind Jack Sinfield in the pecking order, which leads us to believe that he won’t be offered a contract extension. He’s never quite settled in Super League and has only made five appearances this season.

Sam Lisone

With rumours of Lisone putting pen to paper on a new contract, he’s firmly become a fan favourite since arriving in Leeds ahead of the 2023 season. This year in particular, he’s put in some fantastic performances, especially with his barnstorming runs, and we’re sure that the Rhinos faithful would love to see him extend his stay beyond 2025. He’s hinted that he’d love to stay though, so he could re-sign imminently.

Kallum Watkins

The 34-year-old rejoined the Rhinos in April, following a four-year stint with Salford Red Devils. Since making his debut for Leeds, Watkins has impressed teammates, coaches, fans and pundits, all hailing his versatility in the pack and some standout performances. It’s felt like rolling back the years at times, and he should be rewarded with a new deal for next season.

Morgan Gannon

Gannon is in the final year of his contract with the Rhinos but has already agreed to join up with NRL side New Zealand Warriors for next season.
