Yesterday, St Helens tied down long-serving centre Mark Percival to a new contract, ending weeks of speculation regarding his future.
The 31-year-old was said to be leaving the club, with reports elsewhere linking him with a switch to Huddersfield Giants. However, those haven’t come to fruition, and the six-time England international will remain in the Red Vee for a further season.
Percival’s contract now runs until the end of 2027, and his future is secure, for the next 12 months at least.
However, there are still 10 players contracted to the club that has deals expiring at the end of the season, and that includes some big names.
Serious About Rugby League have opted to take a look at which Saints players are still on the market for 2027, and where their next priority may be.

St Helens next contract decisions after Mark Percival commits future
Agnatius Paasi
The overseas prop is currently on loan at Salford RLFC, highlighting where the club currently see him in their plans.
With two starting props sidelined, and only David Klemmer and George Delaney available, the fact Paasi still doesn’t get a look-in suggests we know what the club will be doing with his deal at the season’s end.
Alex Walmsley
One of those injured props, Walmsley started the season well, but will miss at least the next six weeks with a foot injury, in what is another cruel blow to Rowley’s side.
The England international will be 36 in April, but if he keeps up his form of the past 12 months when he returns from injury, there is no reason why he can’t go round another year.
Jackson Hastings
The star half-back only signed a one-year deal with the club, but has already been so influential in how they play. His role is said to be that of a mentor to George Whitby, but Hastings is still a class player himself, and will be looking to prolong his time at the BrewDog Stadium.
Jake Wingfield:
Wingfield has a contract clause that states he will automatically gain a year extension should he hit a certain number of appearances. However, the versatile forward is yet to feature under Paul Rowley.
Joe Shorrocks
Another off-season recruit, Shorrocks has been a consistent performer as he returns to work under Rowley once again.
The loose forward has a tough role in filling Morgan Knowles’ shoes, but he is doing a more than good enough job so far, as he averaged 45 tackles per game.
Jonny Lomax
The veteran half-back has found himself in a bench role to start 2026, with Hastings preferred as the starting seven.
At 35, Lomax debuted for the club in 2008, and has gone on to make over 380 St Helens appearances.
Kyle Feldt:
The North Queensland Cowboys legend came to Merseyside at the start of 2025, and scored 21 tries in 18 matches across all competitions.
The recently-turned 34-year-old still has a lot to give, but the development and potential of Lewis Murphy, Owen Dagnall and Jacob Douglas will have to be taken into account.
Leon Cowen
A young forward making his way in the game, Cowen was set for a year with Halifax Panthers in the Championship, but that loan ended after the Panthers’ liquidation.
However, the newly-formed Halifax side is up-and-running, and he will continue with that loan move for the rest of 2026.
Lewis Murphy
Like Feldt, Murphy is another winger with plenty of competition, so this campaign is crucial for the ex-Wakefield man if he wants to secure another deal. The 23-year-old has scored six tries in 12 St Helens appearances.
Tristan SailorÂ
Sailor, alongside Hastings, is arguably the most important player that St Helens need to tie down, with his game improving heavily under new coach Rowley.
At 27, plenty of clubs will be sniffing around for a quality playmaker like Sailor, so Saints need to act relatively quickly if they want to retain the former Brisbane man.
