Every Super League team’s signing of the season so far including two captains and Man of Steel front-runner

Super League

At the midway stage of the Super League campaign, we’ve picked out every club’s signing of the season so far including some high-profile recruits.

Plenty of signings were made by the twelve Super League clubs with domestic and overseas men flooding into the competition, some teams signing double digits and others signing just one player ahead of the new season.

We’ve ran through every Super League side to pick out each club’s signing of the season so far, after 13 of the 27 rounds have been completed.

Who is your Super League club’s best signing in 2025?

Castleford Tigers: Zac Cini

Jeremiah Simbiken was a contender for this but injury has sidelined him and scuppered his chances here, whilst Zac Cini’s recent form makes him a worthy shout. The centre was on Hull FC’s radar and it’s easy to see why there was interest in him with his athletic frame making him one of the Tigers’ strike threats.

Catalans Dragons: Ollie Partington

Catalans made four splash signings from the NRL, the most notable of whom in Luke Keary has disappointed, but it’s Super League recruit Ollie Partington who has impressed the most. The man is a tackling machine with 570 already this season, almost 80 more than anyone else.

Huddersfield Giants: Zac Woolford

The injury woes at Huddersfield have meant that most of their signings haven’t played significant game time but when he has played, Zac Woolford has been a big difference maker. Off-contract at the end of the year, he’s sure to get looks elsewhere if Huddersfield can’t tie him down.

Hull FC: Aidan Sezer

Plenty of players have made big impacts at Hull FC but captain Sezer is the selection here. Hull FC could not get footholds in games last year but the calm of Sezer, who is on his third Super League club, has transformed them.

Hull KR: Arthur Mourgue

Signings such as Jared Waerea-Hargreaves have helped continue the culture change at Hull KR but signings like Arthur Mourgue have potentially taken the Robins over the top. He’s worth around two to four points a game given his kicking prowess but he also just adds another electric threat that teams have to look out for.

Leeds Rhinos: Jake Connor

There is no real explanation needed on this one. Keenan Palasia and Cooper Jenkins have very good but Leeds would not be anywhere near the top three without Jake Connor who has surely been worth at least six competition points so far in 2025, if not more.

Leigh Leopards: Ethan O’Neill

Tesi Niu is edged out by Ethan O’Neill and that’s purely down to how much help Leigh needed in their pack after losing the likes of Tom Amone, Kai O’Donnell and John Asiata. The second-rower may not bring the physical presence of O’Donnell but he brings elite work rate and a try-scoring knack as well.

Salford Red Devils: Chris Hill

It’s such a tough season to give fair analysis on Salford but Chris Hill was massive for them when fit, even playing injured which has led to this sustained lay-off. Whilst no-one truly knows what is going on behind closed doors, you can wager good money that a leader such as Hill is proving pivotal during such tough times.

St Helens: Tristan Sailor

Saints have signed Deon Cross mid-season but of their three pre-season signings, Tristan Sailor is the man to play the most. He’s been shifted around a lot but could now be moved back to full-back given Jack Welsby’s injury, meaning it’s time for the NRL recruit to step up.

Wakefield Trinity: Mike McMeeken

Wakefield signed a lot of players coming back into Super League and you’d argue that most of them have worked out but Mike McMeeken is the tone-setter. Some would say that the recent form of Caius Faatili means he is a better signing but the results and the culture change at Wakefield is being led by McMeeken who has been extraordinary back under Daryl Powell’s coaching.

Warrington Wolves: Dan Russell

Similar to St Helens, Warrington only made a handful of signings before the season and Dan Russell is the man who has played the most. Rugby Union convert Alfie Johnson has found himself out on loan whilst Oli Leyland has just suffered a major injury. Papua New Guinean international Russell is still taking time to fully establish himself.

Wigan Warriors: George Hirst

George Hirst wins by default on account of the fact he was the only signing that Wigan Warriors made. They have since signed Christian Wade who made his debut for the reserves last week but Hirst has been performing well for former club Oldham, where he is out on dual registration.
