Round Nine of Super League saw plenty of standout performances but Leeds Rhinos, Warrington Wolves and Hull KR men dominate our team of the week.
With so many teams winning either big games or winning in such impressive fashion, this really was a tough team to select and there are perhaps a half dozen players who can feel unlucky not to be included, particularly in the spine.
Jake Arthur had his best game to date for Hull FC whilst Tyrone May and Jackson Hastings both racked up the assists but neither man makes the cut.
As for the outside backs, Ryan Hall rolled back the years to score two in Leeds’ dominant win over Catalans Dragons but he also misses out though two of his teammates do make the cut.
All seven victorious teams are featured with Warrington Wolves leading the way with four selections after their 23-6 win over Wigan Warriors, though players such as Ewan Irwin are very unlucky to miss out.

Super League round nine team of the week
Full-back: Lachie Miller (Leeds Rhinos)
The Leeds full-back was one of several to make well over 200 metres but he also racked up three try assists in the Rhinos’ dominant win over Catalans.
Winger: Josh Thewlis (Warrington Wolves)
He didn’t strictly spend the entire game on the wing as he covered Cai Taylor-Wray at full-back but he was the man to break open the game with his two-try performance coming just days after a new, and very well-deserved, contract extension.
Centre: Davy Litten (Hull FC)
Harry Newman’s addition has caught the eye in recent weeks but it was Litten who stole the show on Thursday, though Newman was also very good. Litten scored two and made almost 150 metres in the Black and Whites’ huge win.
Centre: Albert Hopoate (Warrington Wolves)
The Wire back was one of two to score a brace with Josh Thewlis the other but as for Hopoate, he scored two, made almost 150 metres and racked up four tackle busts.
Winger: AJ Towse (Leigh Leopards)
AJ Towse is starting to come into his own for the Leopards in recent weeks with the ex-York man scoring two tries on Thursday night. Towse also added a whopping 208 metres to his tally, highlighting his effectiveness.
Half-back: Mikey Lewis (Hull KR)
A four-try display with one assist isn’t something you can really argue against in terms of team of the week selection. Teammate Tyrone May posted the reverse stats, one try and four assists, but unfortunately misses out.
Half-back: Marc Sneyd (Warrington Wolves)
The reason why Tyrone May, or a number of other impressive halves, doesn’t make the cut is because Marc Sneyd was simply so classy on Friday night. His control of the game was so strong and his one-pointer near the end was his 50th in Super League.
Prop: Paul Vaughan (York Knights)
A two-try performance for the birthday boy, Vaughan took his tally to five for the season and it’s not just his scoring that was impressive. The powerhouse prop made over 100 metres in a crucial win for the Knights.
Hooker: Daryl Clark (St Helens)
Clark continues to impress this season and Saturday was no different with the hooker making 46 tackles and over eight metres per carry, as well as two impressive offloads.
Prop: Cooper Jenkins (Leeds Rhinos)
Playing off the bench this week, Jenkins made a clear impact as he scored one, assisted another and made over 100 metres at a rate of 10.8 metres per carry. In his second season at Headingley, he’s really starting to flourish.
Second-rower: James Bentley (Warrington Wolves)
Bentley actually ended up playing the second-half in the centres where he produced a brilliant assist for Albert Hopoate, however, it’s his dogged determination to be everywhere on the pitch that secures him this spot.
Second-rower: Shane Wright (St Helens)
Wright has gone under the radar as one of the most impressive players at Saints but his 54 tackles in Saturday’s win did not go unnoticed.
Loose forward: Elliot Minchella (Hull KR)
The KR captain spoke recently about how he’s playing fewer, but ultimately more impactful, minutes this season and that was evident on Saturday as he returned to Odsal. His assist for Mikey Lewis’ try was a wonderful offload and he put up impressive tackling statistics as well in a solid performance.
