Super League team news with Bevan French and Matt Dufty calls made for Wigan Warriors v Warrington as Wakefield Trinity v St Helens confirm squads

It’s Friday night and there are two huge Super League games with the team news confirmed for both as Wigan Warriors host Warrington Wolves and Wakefield Trinity play St Helens.

Plenty of movement in the play-offs will happen tonight with St Helens either set to reclaim fourth spot in Super League or Wakefield Trinity will solidify their grip on the top six, harming Warrington’s slim hopes in the process.

Wire host Wigan with Sam Burgess’ side knowing they will likely have to win all seven of their final seven games in order to make the top six, whereas the visitors are just wanting to keep the pressure on Hull KR ahead of next week’s huge clash.

Matt Peet welcomed back Jai Field, Bevan French and Sam Walters to their 21-man squad and decisions on all three have now been confirmed, with a decision also made on Matt Dufty amid reports from All Out Rugby League that he had been stood down by Warrington Wolves.

The teams have also been selected for the other crunch game tonight over at the DIY Kitchens Stadium where Wakefield host St Helens.

Warrington Wolves v Wigan Warriors team news

As expected, there is no Matt Dufty with Stefan Ratchford the man to replace him at full-back with Cai Taylor-Wray perhaps not ready for a full 80 after his lengthy injury.

Youth is present though with Zack Gardner named in the centres, a result of Ratchford at full-back and Connor Wrench missing due to a HIA. Danny Walker starts from the bench once again with NRL loanee Ryan Matterson there also, having made a huge impact last week.

Jack Farrimond partners Harry Smith once again with Zach Eckersley on the wing in the absence of Abbas Miski.

Tom Johnstone’s absence means that Jayden Myers continues on the wing in a strong backline that featyres star man Max Jowitt with the fit duo of Jake Trueman and Mason Lino playing in the halves.

Isaiah Vagana is back from suspension and returns to the bench with Liam Hood and Matthieu Cozza also making their return in a triple boost for Daryl Powell’s side.

Paul Wellens names an unchanged 17 with the headline news being that Daryl Clark plays his 400th career game. There is still no chance for Joe Batchelor or James Bell, both of whom have recovered from their injuries and will likely feature for the reserves now.
