Super League Team News: Huddersfield Giants lose star man as Hull FC make double change

Huddersfield Giants and Hull FC have named their 21-man squads for Thursday night’s clash that will kick off Super League Round 21.

The Giants earned their first win under Jim Lenihan at the weekend, downing York Knights 24-22 in a thrilling affair. FC, meanwhile, lost their ninth consecutive derby to rivals Hull KR, despite going 12-0 up after seven minutes.

With Huddersfield still bottom and Hull FC four points above them in 13th, it makes for a hugely important game for both sides, who are aiming to avoid the wooden spoon.

For this game, home side Huddersfield have made four changes to their side, with the big news being that full-back Niall Evalds is out, currently for reasons unknown.

Also dropped from the side are youngsters Achie Sykes and Logan Blacker, with the latter joining Dewsbury Rams on a week-long loan.

In their place come Tanguy Zenon, Mashall Land, Jack Billington and Matty Hanley, after the latter has re-joined the club on a full-time basis.

Taane Milne will serve the second match of a three-game suspension, whilst Tristan Powell is still recovering from a ruptured trachea.

Adam Clune and Sam Halsall are another two to three weeks away, whilst Adam Swift is another who remains absent.

Hull FC, meanwhile, make two changes to their initial 21. Yusuf Aydin returns after completing HIA protocols, with Matty Laidlaw dropping out.

Young outside back Ben Johnson also returns in place of hooker Will Hutchinson.
