A Super League round 22 fixture has been rescheduled with home side Huddersfield Giants confirming a new date for their clash in early August.
The Giants, who sit at the foot of the table, are one of several Super League clubs who share a ground with a football club, however, their fixture rearrangement seemingly is not a result of Huddersfield Town playing.
Town play in the EFL Cup against Preston North End on the 8th of August, however, that game is away from home anyway but the Giants have still confirmed that their fixture scheduled for the 9th of August will actually be brought forward a day.
It means that rather than playing on Sunday, the Giants will play on Saturday when they host Catalans Dragons at the Accu Stadium.
It’s not the first game that Huddersfield have rearranged this season, either in terms of date or venue, with their clash against Toulouse in early June being played at Dewsbury’s FLAIR Stadium on account of the Accu being resurfaced.
A short statement confirmed the new date and kick-off time, announcing: “The Giants home game vs Catalans Dragons will now take place on Saturday 8th August.
“The game was previously scheduled for the 9th, but will take place a day earlier. Kick off 2 pm at the Accu Stadium.
“Tickets are not yet on sale for this clash, but will be announced in due course when they become available.”
Prior to that round 22 game, Huddersfield have a gauntlet of fixtures that includes York Knights at Magic Weekend, Bradford Bulls and Wigan Warriors at home, an away trip to York, before their round 21 game sees them host Hull FC.
