The Super League referee appointments have been confirmed, and the competition is set for a history-making weekend.
As well as it being the 30th anniversary of Super League, there will also be celebrations for the appointment of the division’s first ever female referee.
Tara Jones had already been confirmed to take charge of the tie between Wigan Warriors and Huddersfield Giants, as she becomes the first woman in the 30 years to oversee a men’s Super League game.
She will partner with experienced ref Chris Kendall, who will not take to the field this week after making his Super League return in round five. Instead, he will on video referee duties twice across the weekend.
Elsewhere, James Vella will take the whistle in Thursday’s tie between Castleford Tigers and Bradford Bulls alongside Liam Rush. That pairing is set to be reversed in Sunday’s game when Hull FC face Catalans Dragons.
Hull KR’s tie with St Helens will be overseen by Liam Moore and Jack Smith, with the duo switching roles for Sunday’s game when Leeds Rhinos face Warrington Wolves.
York Knights host Wakefield Trinity in a game that sees Tom Grant and Kendall pair up. Aaron Moore and Grant will be in charge of Leigh Leopards’ home tie with Toulouse Olympique.
