With just three fixtures in this half of round 20, the Super League team of the week could’ve been trickier than ever. However, with two teams producing standout performances, many selections picked themselves.
Wakefield Trinity, Huddersfield Giants and Wigan Warriors all secured victories, with many stars from each side producing some excellent performances.
Here are our picks for Super League team of the week, with two sides dominating the picks.
Super League round 19 team of the week
Fullback: George Flanagan Jr (Huddersfield Giants)
Flanagan Jr is building week by week. Whilst his defence is definitely an area to work on, his attack has been a real highlight for the Giants this season. Combining well with halfbacks Tui Lolohea and Matt Frawley, the young fullback made 50 metres in just six carries, as well as a try and the two points for the club.
Winger: Lachlan Walmsley (Wakefield Trinity)
Walsmley has more than earned his new contract at Trinity for next season and is having a great patch of form. He added another try to his tally, along with seven tackle busts and 177m, the most of any Wakefield player.
Centre: Jake Bibby (Huddersfield Giants)
Huddersfield’s highest metre maker against Hull FC was Bibby, with 101 metres from 10 carries. He also snagged a couple of tackle busts and a try, in a solid performance both in attack and in defence.
Centre: Corey Hall (Wakefield Trinity)
One of Wakefield’s most consistent performers as of late has been Hall. He made over 100m once again with 20 carries. He’s possibly gone under the radar in 2025, but he’s showing his full potential in a thriving Wakefield side.
Winger: Lewis Martin (Hull FC)
Hull FC’s top metre-maker was Martin, with 152 metres on the night. His consolation hat-trick was one of the very few highlights for the Black and Whites on an otherwise disappointing night.
Stand-off: Jack Farrimond (Wigan Warriors)
Whilst it wasn’t a vintage Wigan performance, Farrimond was definitely a stand-out. He combined well with fellow halfback Harry Smith and scored a superb solo try. Between him, Zach Eckersley and Jacob Douglas, there’s yet another crop of excellent youngsters coming through the Wigan academy system.
Scrum-half: Mason Lino (Wakefield Trinity)
A game-winning drop goal deserves a spot in the Super League team of the week, but Lino more than contributed in the halves on his 150th career game in a player-of-the-match performance. Everything good about Trinity’s attack went through Lino.
Prop: Caius Faatili (Wakefield Trinity)
Another trademark Faatili performance, with 129 metres from sixteen carries. Whilst it wasn’t spectacular by any means, he’s doing his job by getting those extra metres with every carry.
Hooker: Jarrod O’Connor (Leeds Rhinos)
Whilst it was far from Leeds’ best performance, O’Connor was probably the standout. With 46 tackles, 12 metres made per carry, and a try, he was certainly putting the effort in in both attack and defence.
Prop: Mike McMeeken (Wakefield Trinity)
He has to be heading an Ashes England spot, doesn’t he? Another consistent performance from McMeeken, with 116 metres and sixteen carries, he also does a ton of work in defence, making 28 tackles.
Second-row: Jed Cartwright (Hull FC)
One player who’s stood out since his return from injury has been Cartwright. He’s making plenty of metres (119 this week), along with standing up in defence, with 35 tackles, 11 of those at marker.
Second-row: Joe Greenwood (Huddersfield Giants)
On his return from injury, Greenwood put in a typical game for him, with 99 metres and 33 tackles. Adding a try and a couple f tackle busts, it was a complete performance from him.
Loose Forward: Leroy Cudjoe (Huddersfield Giants)
Playing some career-best rugby, Cudjoe’s move to loose forward has been nothing short of a genius move. Making just shy of 100 metres, he also made 27 tackles and a tackle bust. A standard nigt for the veteran, who shows no signs of slowing down.
