We’ve picked our Super League round 13 Team of the Week, with both Hull-based sides featuring more than once following some quality performances across the board.
Whilst it’s mostly the winning side who dominate, there is a spot for a Huddersfield Giants player following their close defeat against Leigh Leopards, as well as representatives from Wigan Warriors, Leigh Leopards and Leeds Rhinos.
Some positions were easier to call with multiple player of the match awards across our selection, whether it was from the TV coverage or their fans voting online.
Here’s our top thirteen in our Super League round 13 team of the week.
Super League round 13 team of the week
FB: Will Pryce – Hull FC
He’s settled into this Hull FC side very quickly, whether playing at fullback or in the halves. FC boss John Cartwright opted to play Pryce at fullback, with Jordan Rapan returning in the halves in Cade Cust’s absence. Pryce racked up 246 metres in just 17 carries, along with two tries, as the conditions in Perpignan suited his game perfectly.
WG: Jacob Douglas – Wigan Warriors
A hat-trick and a try assist in just his fifth Super League game earns Douglas a spot in our team of the week. Whilst it wasn’t a flawless Wigan performance, Douglas was tough for the Salford Red Devils defence to handle out wide, with the youngster also making five clean breaks. He’s yet another product of their excellent academy set-up.
CE: Davy Litten – Hull FC
Litten is playing some of the best rugby of his career with another player of the match performance against Catalans Dragons. He was all over the pitch too, supporting in attack when needed and in defence when short on numbers. He’s also starting to build up a partnership with winger Lewis Martin, which could continue for the next 10 years at the club.
CE: Peta Hiku – Hull KR
Whilst Rovers have been sensational from 1-17 this season, Hiku has been one of the standouts. Whilst he might not get the glory of all the tries, he made another four tackle busts against St Helens and Hull KR’s best attacking play usually involves him.
WG: Sam Halsall – Huddersfield Giants
Despite being on the losing side, Halsall was arguably Huddersfield’s best player against Leigh. With an average gain of fourteen metres per carry, he was the Giants’ brightest outside back in attack. Once Tui Lolohea and Adam Clune find their stride as a halfback duo, Halsall could easily become their main threat out wide.
SO: Mikey Lewis – Hull KR
Right now, everything Mikey Lewis touches turns to gold. Heading into Wembley next week, he’s the in-form halfback in the competition right now. He added another two tries and an assist to his stats for the season, as well as five tackle busts.
SH: Ben McNamara – Leigh Leopards
Slightly cheating as both Lewis and McNamara played at six, but the Leigh player had another impressive game filling in for usual stand-off Gareth O’Brien. Whilst Lachlan Lam is usually the main man at Leigh, McNamara is more than holding his own alongside him. Again, he’s doing a lot of the unseen things in this Leopards outfit, and his goal-kicking has improved significantly too.
PR: Eribe Doro – Hull KR
Whilst it wasn’t a flawless performance by the prop, his return runs in Hull KR’s attack and his efforts were clear to see. If he can clean up the errors and help out in defence a little more, Hull KR have a great player on their hands if he can stay consistent.
HK: Jarrod O’Connor – Leeds Rhinos
With 61 tackles made, O’Connor had to be at hooker in our team of the week. He’s been one of Leeds’ most consistent performers this season, but is going under the radar in this Rhinos team in 2025. His efforts in defence will have pleased coach Brad Arthur, and his runs from dummy half also helped set them up for some decent attacking play.
PR: Sam Luckley – Hull KR
Whilst Luckley hasn’t been a starting prop for Rovers this year, he’s more than making up for that with his impact off the bench. He dominated every tackle he made, and his offload and try assist to set up Mikey Lewis was one for the highlight reel.
SR: Frankie Halton – Leigh Leopards
On his return to the Leopards side, Halton put in a performance that we’re used to seeing from the back-rower. 38 tackles, an average of ten metres per carry and a try to top it off, he was the standout performer in the Leigh forward pack. If Leigh are going to continue climbing the table, Halton is the man to lead by example.
SR: Ethan Havard – Wigan Warriors
Usually playing at prop, Havard moved into the second row for the Warriors due to a number of issues amongst pack players. It was only his second game back from injury himself, starting on the bench against Catalans last weekend. It proves that he’ll put his hand up to play wherever boss Matt Peet needs him to.
LF: Kallum Watkins – Leeds Rhinos
Another forward who is happy to play in just about any forward position is Watkins. This week, he featured at loose forward and was the catalyst for lots of Leeds field position. He also racked up 91 metres and 33 tackles in a vintage Watkins performance.
