Leeds Rhinos recorded the strongest attendance in round 13 of Super League as Brad Arthur’s side kept up their impressive form, retaining their spot at the top of the competition.
After a week off for the Challenge Cup, Super League returned and it opened up with Leeds Rhinos seeing off St Helens as they snapped a nine-year losing streak at home to the Saints in front of a round-high crowd of 13,452.
That saw them retain their spot atop Super League and their good week continued on Friday as Brad Arthur announced that he had signed another two-year deal with the club.
Warrington Wolves kept pace with Leeds as they narrowly beat Hull FC on Friday night in front of a competitive crowd, whilst Bradford Bulls, Castleford Tigers and Wakefield Trinity also drew strong home crowds, with the Tigers the only home side of those to taste defeat.
The other home losers were Huddersfield Giants as Jim Lenihan realised the task at hand as Toulouse beat his side, whilst designated home side Catalans lost in Paris as Wigan Warriors’ wonderful week continued.

Super League round 13 attendances
That game in Paris drew a crowd of over 12,000, the second-highest of the week and one of just two games to pass the 10,000 mark.
At the time of writing, there’s no recorded attendance for Huddersfield’s game that they played at Dewsbury’s FLAIR Stadium, whilst the other four crowds drew numbers between 7,000 and 9,000.
It meant that the average attendance across the six Super League games with a recorded crowd sat at just over 9,700. It’s likely that the Huddersfield crowd fell below 5,000, as has been the case when they have played home games at the Accu Stadium.
