The referee appointments for the penultimate round of Super League have been confirmed, including for the key play-off clash between Leigh Leopards and St Helens.
Leigh will secure a top four finish with a win, leaving St Helens destined to finish fifth, however, a win for the Red Vee would leave it all to play for in the final round of the season.
There are play-off repercussions in every game this week, barring Sunday’s, which sees Huddersfield Giants host Salford Red Devils as Super League’s bottom two sides face off with pride on the line.
Hull KR can win the League Leaders Shield on Saturday evening if they can defeat Wakefield Trinity, something that rivals Hull FC will be hoping happens as the Black and Whites sit one point behind Trinity in the race for sixth. John Cartwright’s side will host Warrington at the same time on Saturday evening.
Should Wigan Warriors lose to Castleford on Friday night then Hull KR would already be crowned League Leaders Shield winners before they take to the field on Saturday.
The other game this week in Super League is actually the first with Leeds Rhinos hosting Catalans Dragons on Thursday night and the referee for that match, and all the others, has now been confirmed.
Jack Smith takes charge of that first one with Liam Rush as video referee with Smith then serving as video ref to Liam Moore for the big play-off clash between Leigh Leopards and St Helens on Friday night.
Moore’s brother Aaron takes charge of Friday’s other game with Tom Grant in support, before Grant then referees Hull FC v Warrington Wolves on Saturday. Marcus Griffiths is video ref for that one.
Hull KR could lock up their first Super League Leaders Shield on Saturday when Chris Kendall is in charge, supported by Moore. Meanwhile Sunday’s game will see Kendall support Scott Mikalauskas.
