The referee appointments for Round 18 of Super League have been confirmed, including a huge clash at AMT Headingley as Leeds Rhinos host St Helens.
The historic rivals have faced off twice already in the league this year, with both sides taking home one win apiece.
There is also a top four clash as league leaders Hull KR travel to Leigh Leopards, as they look to bounce back from a 14-8 defeat to Leeds last weekend.
Aaron Moore will also return to the whistle this week, after missing last week’s round of fixtures.
Who is in charge of this week’s Super League games?
The round will kick off on Thursday night in West Hull, as John Cartwright’s FC host Wakefield Trinity. The black and whites have gone over a year without winning at home, whilst Trinity are on the rise and looking to cement a spot in the playoffs. James Vella will referee the Yorkshire derby, with Liam Rush as the video ref.
Friday night sees Leeds Rhinos return home after an emphatic win over the Robins. However, St Helens are on a four-match winning run and will go above Leeds in the table should they emerge victorious. Taking up the whistle for this game is Jack Smith, with Liam Moore on video referee duties.
The other fixture on Friday night sees Huddersfield travel to Wigan. The Giants almost provided an upset win when the sides met at Dewsbury’s FLAIR Stadium, and head coach Luke Robinson is confident his side can get the job done this time around. Chris Kendall has been named as the on-field referee with Marcus Griffiths as the video ref.
On Saturday, there is a Super League double header. First, Leigh host Hull KR in the clash that could be a playoff rehearsal come September. Liam Moore will change to on-field referee and Jack Smith will head upstairs to be video ref.
That is followed by Catalans Dragons hosting Warrington Wolves. The roles will be reversed from Thursday night, with Rush taking up the whistle, and Vella on video ref duties.
On Sunday, Aaron Moore returns to refereeing duties after missing last week. He will take control of Salford Red Devils and Castleford Tigers. The experienced Kendall will advise him as video referee.
