Super League referee appointments confirmed including Leeds Rhinos vs Hull KR and St Helens vs Hull FC

The Super League referee appointments for Round 23 have been confirmed, including the huge heavyweight clash between Leeds Rhinos and Hull KR. One referee is set to make his on-field return, after being solely on video referee duties for over two months.

The Las Vegas dress rehearsal is the opening match of the round, and a win for KR will all but confirm their league leaders shield, whilst Leeds would go level on points with Wigan should they emerge victorious. Jack Smith will have the whistle in this fixture, with Chris Kendall acting as video referee.

On Friday night, Leigh Leopards take on Salford Red Devils as the home side look to re-gain third place following a defeat to Hull FC. Marcus Griffiths will take charge of his first Super League game since the end of May, with Aaron Moore taking on video ref duties.

St Helens host Hull FC also on Friday night. A Saints win would mean they could also go level on points with the Warriors, ahead of their clash on Sunday. Liam Moore will officiate this matchup, with Tom Grant as video ref.

Saturday afternoon puts together two struggling sides as Castleford Tigers make the trip to Perpignan to face Catalans Dragons. Castleford were heavily beaten in a woeful effort against Leeds, leaving director of rugby, Chris Chester, furious with such a “pathetic” performance. Liam Rush will take charge in the south of France, with Jack Smith as video ref.

Sunday sees Huddersfield Giants look to gain their second win of the season over Warrington Wolves. Wire performed a second-half comeback to beat the Dragons last week, after dropping Matt Dufty and Toby King to the reserves for poor performances. The roles will be reversed from the Leigh game, with Aaron Moore the on-field referee and Griffiths the video ref.

At the same time, Wigan Warriors host Wakefield Trinity in what should be another great spectacle. Wakefield defeated the reigning champs earlier this season, and another victory would do their playoff chances a world of good. The experienced Kendall and Liam Moore will control this one, with the latter acting as video ref.
