Super League milestones as St Helens, Wigan Warriors and other stars record landmark achievements

Round 19 of Super League saw several players hit some milestone moments in their career, including a Wigan Warriors legend.

Wigan Warriors might have lost 32-12 to Hull FC but it was still a memorable day for two of their players who made their 400th and 100th club appearances.

Captain Liam Farrell was the man to hit the 400 milestone, an achievement that most players don’t hit in their career, let alone for one club.

Debuting for the Cherry and Whites in April 2010 as a try-scorer in a dominant win over Wakefield Trinity, Farrell has gone on to overtake a number of club legends and with two years left on his contract, he could move past 450.

Kaide Ellis was the other man to celebrate a milestone appearance, playing his 100th game for the club after arriving ahead of the 2022 season. Signing from St George Illawarra, the 28-year-old has become a fan favourite and is contracted until the end of 2029 meaning he could continue to rack up the appearances for some time.

Which other Super League players hit milestones in Round 19?

A former Wigan player made his 100th career appearance in the win against them and that was Cade Cust. The Australian played 40 times in Cherry and White but made his 20th appearance in Black and White as he played a key role in the win at his former club.

On Thursday night, a St Helens pair hit landmarks despite their defeat. Agnatius Paasi made his 100th appearance in the Red Vee whilst Moses Mbye played the 250th game of his career, the majority of which was spent Down Under.

Friday night saw Liam Hood make his 300th career appearance with the Wakefield Trinity hooker having played 91 of those for Trin. The Scotland international debuted back in 2012, first appearing in Super League for Leeds Rhinos.

Joe Burgess made his 200th Super League appearance and celebrated it with two tries and a whopping 191 metres, whilst Sunday afternoon saw Marc Sneyd move into the all-time top five for Super League points scorers as he overtook Pat Richards and moved to 2,286.

Outside of Super League, there was one record worth talking about and it came for a head coach as John Kear, who has recently returned to Batley Bulldogs, coached the 700th game of his career.
