The Man of Steel points from the 10th round of Super League have been confirmed with Hull FC and Wigan Warriors men chasing Jake Connor down.
Connor was on the winning side at Super League Magic Weekend and that saw him claim more Man of Steel points to extend his lead at the top of the table.
He currently sits in first place with 16 points from a maximum of 30, whilst four other players sit on double digit points.
The 2024 Super League Man of Steel Mikey Lewis sits in 11th with six points whilst 2023 winner Bevan French sits in 18th with five, with three of his Wigan Warriors teammates ahead of him.
In total, 109 players have at least one Man of Steel point but none will be earned this coming weekend as Super League takes a break for the Challenge Cup semi-finals. With that said, we’ve taken a look at who picked up the points in Round 10.
Who scored Man of Steel points at Magic Weekend?
Man of Steel points are handed out to the three best performers in a Super League match with tallies of three, two and one being handed out and added to player’s previous totals.
Three players who lost at Magic Weekend did manage to pick up points with Matt Dufty, Aidan Sezer and Guillermo Aispuro-Bichet all picking up one point a piece.
Edwin Ipape took home all three points when Leigh beat Catalans with fellow try-scorer Ethan O’Neill grabbing two after the Leopards 26-24 win.
It was no surprise to see the try-scorers pick up points from Hull KR’s 54-0 win over Salford Red Devils with Arthur Mourgue scoring two and then kicking all nine conversions, earning him three points. Jez Litten bagged a brace of tries and a brace of points whilst Dean Hadley picked up the final point.
Lachie Miller took home three points from Leeds’ win over St Helens as Jake Connor ticked along with two and Morgan Gannon scooped up one.
As referenced, Aidan Sezer took one for Hull FC despite their loss to Huddersfield Giants but the returning Adam Clune rightfully earned three points whilst full-back George Flanagan scored a deserved two.
Jai Field and Adam Keighran took three and two points respectively when Wigan beat Wire, whilst Lachan Walmsley picked up three in the final game of the round. Mason Lino (two) and Mike McMeeken (one) also registered points.
Super League Man of Steel leaderboard after Round 10
Wigan Warriors, Leeds Rhinos and Hull FC all have two men each in the top ten with Leeds obviously leading the way with Connor.
Hull KR, Wakefield Trinity, Leigh Leopards and Catalans Dragons are also represented with Catalans winger Nick Cotric finding himself in third place with 12 points.
The former Canberra man has impressed but with Catalans struggling so much, his high placing perhaps points to a flaw in the system. As would the fact that players on teams like Wigan and Hull KR often take points from each other, meaning Field and French only sit on 10 and 6 points respectively despite their strong starts to the season.
