Super League Magic Weekend ticket update as 2026 edition set for highest-ever crowd

Magic Weekend in 2026 will officially be the highest-attended event in Super League history, with the latest ticketing update revealing that close to 70,000 tickets have been sold.

The two-day event, July 4-5, will see every Super League team be involved over one weekend, and it coincides with the second of three ‘Rivals Round’ fixtures across the campaign.

The first of the three chapters takes place over the Easter Weekend, where the likes of Hull KR and Hull FC, Wigan Warriors and St Helens and Leeds Rhinos and Bradford Bulls all go head-to-head in one huge weekend for the sport.

Magic in 2026 has moved to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, the new home of Everton FC, and that appeal of a new venue has seen fans’ interest peak,  which is highlighted given the increase in ticket sales.

The highest-attended Magic event took place at Newcastle’s St James’ Park in 2016, where a combined crowd of 68,276 witness results such as Wigan Warriors defeating Leeds Rhinos and Wakefield Trinity overcoming Catalans Dragons by an extraordinary Jacob Miller drop goal.

Whilst the official ticket figure hasn’t been announced, Sky Sports presenter Jenna Brooks confirmed the news in the build-up to the derby match between Hull KR and Hull FC – one of those games that will take place across this year’s staging.

“It’s ironic to think that we nearly dropped that concept,” said fellow Sky pundit Jon Wilkin. “It’s a concept that people love to go to and buy tickets for.

“It’s great to see that it’s in the calendar and great to see that it’s going to be well-supported.”
