The 2026 edition of Super League Magic Weekend is set to have over 75,000 fans in attendance at Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium as ticket sales continue to be smashed. Meanwhile, the details and location for the standalone seventh game have also been confirmed.
Despite fears over the future of Magic Weekend only last year, Super League opted to keep it in the calendar as the one remaining loop fixture and that decision has been vindicated given the huge interest in this year’s event.
After being well-received as a venue for the Ashes, Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium was selected to host the two-day event that Super League fans have grown to love and with rivalry games selected, ticket sales have smashed all previous records.
Over four weeks out and more than 75,000 tickets have been sold with the previous record for a Super League Magic Weekend being 68,276, all the way back in 2016 at St James’ Park.
That record has already been beaten by almost 7,000 tickets and it’s feasible that the two-day event could average 40,000 in attendance each day, showcasing how important it was to keep in the calendar.
Where the seventh Super League Magic Weekend game will be played
As part of the new Magic Weekend, a seventh game was confirmed to be held at a different location with Catalans Dragons and Toulouse Olympique set to face off in France.
Despite Super League Magic Weekend 2026 being announced back in November, a location for that game had not been confirmed but that’s now changed with Catalans announcing details.
The game will be played on the Saturday, kicking off at 8:00 pm UK time thus giving it a standalone time slot, with the Stade Pierre-Fabre hosting the match.
That’s the home of Castres Olympique, a rugby union club, with both Super League sides viewing it as the perfect venue.
Olivier Dubois, Toulouse Olympiques President said: “We chose to organise this first French Magic Weekend in Castres, an iconic rugby city, because Stade Pierre-Fabre provides the perfect setting for this clash between the two French Super League clubs. This exceptional fixture adds a unique dimension to the event and allows us to celebrate rugby league while sharing this festival with as many people as possible.”
Bernard Guasch, Catalans Dragons President added: “We are delighted to have the opportunity, as part of this Magic Weekend, to play at the home of Castres Olympique. It is a fantastic opportunity to experience a major occasion in a truly iconic stadium with a rich history. We are also excited to introduce Super League to the many rugby clubs and supporters across the Tarn region and neighbouring areas, and to share with them the spectacle and intensity of our competition.”
