Super League Magic Weekend 2026 breaks pre-sale record with 400% increase confirmed

The move to take Super League Magic Weekend to Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium has clearly gone down very well with fans as Rugby League Commercial have confirmed huge ticket sales for the event.

Tickets only go on general sale today (Monday, 15th December) but the pre-sale numbers have been so strong that more than 25,000 tickets have already been secured.

Season ticket holders and those who pre-registered for the priority window of tickets were able to purchase before the event went on general sale and that’s led to an impressive number of sales.

There had been concerns over whether Magic Weekend would continue in a 14-team Super League, given the fact that the main driver for a switch to 14 teams was to remove loop fixtures, which Magic Weekend is.

However, when explaining the decision this off-season, RL Commercial’s Rhodri Jones pointed to the fact that Magic Weekend is “probably different to the other four loop fixtures”, adding that it’s return was a ‘win for the fans, the broadcasters and for our commercial partners’.

Super League Magic Weekend sales hit 25,000 during priority window

Magic Weekend 2026 also saw the return of derbies and that could be another reason why pre-sale figures are so impressive, up over 400% on last year.

Speaking on the impressive sales, Jones said: “Surpassing 25,000 tickets before general sale shows just how much fans have embraced Magic Weekend at its new venue. Hill Dickinson Stadium offers a fantastic stage for the sport, and we are excited to deliver an unforgettable two-day celebration of Rugby League in 2026.”

Those who attended the second Ashes Test at the Hill Dickinson Stadium praised it, though some concerns were noted over transport, and the move to take Magic Weekend there has clearly been popular with fans.

With Super League now having 14 teams, therefore seven games per round, it’s been confirmed that Catalans Dragons and Toulouse Olympique will face off in a separate event on the same weekend of July 4th and 5th at a neutral venue in the south of France.

The games at Everton’s ground are as follows:

Saturday, 4th July

York Knights vs Huddersfield Giants

Hull FC vs Hull KR

Leigh Leopards vs Warrington Wolves

Sunday, 5th July

Wakefield Trinity vs Castleford Tigers

Leeds Rhinos vs Bradford Bulls

Wigan Warriors vs St Helens
