Hull KR will be anxious over the health of three key men ahead of the Challenge Cup Final after picking up injury concerns in round 12 of Super League.
The Robins cruised past a heavily-rotated Wigan Warriors side and injury fears for Dean Hadley, Karl Lawton and Jai Whitbread all point to why Matt Peet took no risks whatsoever in his squad selection, as he handed out ten Super League debuts.
Karl Lawton played just 20 minutes with the versatile forward suffering a rib issue, whilst Dean Hadley left the field late on with a hamstring concern. For Jai Whitbread, Willie Peters revealed a groin issue with the Robins hoping for positive updates on all three ahead of Sunday’s Challenge Cup Final.
Tyrone May also did not play due to a shoulder issue though that was thought to be precautionary.
With Hull KR and Wigan the only Super League sides in action next week, many other clubs will be hopeful that the injury issues that they sustained will only be short-term ones.

Super League round 12 injury concerns
Warrington Wolves head coach Sam Burgess confirmed one long-term injury as Luke Yates is set to miss the rest of the season, with the prop to undergo neck surgery in the coming weeks.
He was one of several who did not play on Sunday with Sam Stone (hamstring) another whilst Josh Thewlis (shoulder) picked up a knock. For Bradford, Chris Atkin dislocated his finger but played on.
Friday night’s games also saw some key men miss out with injuries including Davy Litten (knee) whilst Hull’s opponents Leigh saw AJ Towse go down with a hamstring issue.
In Friday’s other match, Sam Hewitt suffered calf tightness in the heavy loss to Leeds Rhinos but Brad Arthur’s side appeared to come through fine.
Saturday saw one of the more concerning injuries as St Helens’ Noah Stephens was sent to the hospital amid concerns over his neck after he failed a HIA when attempting to tackle. Regardless of the outcome of his hospital trip, it’s thought that Stephens will be stood down for eight weeks as he has now failed two HIAs in consecutive games.
Deon Cross also left the field in that game whilst Tiaki Chan came off in Toulouse’s loss to Wakefield Trinity, though it’s unclear why for both men.
