Round 23 of Super League is in the books, and amid some interesting results, there was also some key injury concerns.
The most significant result came on Thursday night as Super League leaders Hull KR travelled to Headingley to face Leeds Rhinos, only to be played off the park and lose 28-6 and head back to East Hull with a number of injury issues.
Rovers were blitzed by Brad Arthur’s side as the Robins potentially suffered a hangover from their win over Wigan, whilst Leeds sent a firm message to the rest of Super League that they are genuine contenders.
All of the chasing pack responded in kind with St Helens defeating Hull FC and Leigh Leopards beating a gritty Salford Red Devils, with both of those games played on Friday night.
Sunday saw Wigan lay down a marker as Bevan French returned and the Warriors looked close to their brilliant best as they hammered Wakefield 44-2 to reclaim second spot.
The other two results saw Catalans cruise past Castleford Tigers whilst Warrington saw their play-off hopes shrink even more as Huddersfield Giants came from behind to win 23-10.
A significant round in regards the Super League table, it also came at an injury cost for a number of sides.

Thursday looked to be the most significant result and also see some of the most significant injury blows as Hull KR lost Sauaso Sue to a knee injury early on, before also seeing Jai Whitbread suffer a knock. Full-back Arthur Mourgue was another but Willie Peters confirmed his shoulder injury was only minor.
As for Leeds, captain Ash Handley was seen icing his groin as he left the field early so that will be a concern for Rhinos fans.
Hull FC’s torried injury luck continued when Jed Cartwright dislocated his shoulder after just three minutes in their loss to St Helens, however, it was the Red Vee who potentially suffered most.
Young outside back Owen Dagnall went down suddenly holding his hamstring and it certainly looked to more than a bout of cramp. Paul Wellens admitted he was fearful of what it could be but any significant hamstring injury may end the youngster’s season.
Finlay Yates failed a HIA whilst teammate Charlie Glover was also sent for one though it was unconfirmed if he failed.
Knee issues arose for both Adam Keighran and Josh Griffin with Keighran’s substitution hopefully more precautionary as Matt Peet also withdrew Bevan French.
On his 250th Super League appearance, Alex Mellor looked to suffer a hamstring injury.
