Super League Grand Final trending for huge crowd as Wigan Warriors and Hull KR confirm incredible ticket sales

The Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford is set for a bumper crowd with finalists Wigan Warriors and Hull KR both reporting ticket sales of 10,000-plus within hours of each side being confirmed in the big game.

Wigan booked their ticket on Friday night when they beat Leigh Leopards and Hull KR did their part on Saturday as they defeated St Helens.

It sets up a repeat Grand Final between this season’s two best teams with the narrative now being ‘Treble versus Three-peat’ as both sides seek history.

For Wigan, two Bevan French tries and a late score from Sam Walters was enough to see the Warriors through to the Theatre of Dreams, as they look to complete the three-peat following Grand Final wins in 2023 and 2024.

For Hull KR, a dominant first half that included Joe Burgess and Mikey Lewis tries was capped in the second half when Oliver Gildart crossed over to secure their spot in the Super League Grand Final.

Now, both clubs have confirmed incredible ticket sales with new blocks opened up to accommodate fans amid the huge demand for tickets with it being confirmed that the upper bowl of the stadium has now been opened.

Wigan Warriors and Hull KR sell over 20,000 Super League Grand Final tickets inside 24 hours

In what has been a record-breaking year for the Warriors, having announced last month that they averaged an attendance of over 17,000 for every home game this season, which is higher than any previous year since their move to the Brick Community Stadium.

Their fans once again showed their support at the home semi-final over the Leopards, and many have already booked their ticket for the big dance, which takes place on Saturday 11 October.

The Warriors proudly announced that in just 12 hours of tickets being available to buy, a huge 10,000 were picked up, with many more expected to sell as the week progresses.

Wigan, having defeated Catalans Dragons in 2023 and the Robins in 2024, are looking to become the third team in Super League history to win the trophy three times in a row, following the success of Leeds Rhinos in 2007-2009 and St Helens in 2019-2022.

Hull KR tickets went even faster than Wigan’s as 7,500 were sold within 25 minutes of the tickets being on sale, with over 10,000 gone in just over 90 minutes.

They’ll seek a historic treble having already won the Challenge Cup and League Leaders Shield.
