Super League disciplinary verdict as 14 charged and St Helens star lands three-match ban

A total of 14 players have been charged after round four of the Challenge Cup but only one man has been banned in the latest Super League disciplinary verdict.

That man is St Helens’ winger Kyle Feldt with the former NRL man handed a hefty three-match ban after landing a Grade E charge for head contact.

His high tackle on Castleford’s Krystian Mapapalangi resulted in the Cas centre failing a HIA, meaning that three extra penalty points are tacked onto Feldt’s charge, landing him a total of 21 – enough to meet the threshold for a three-match ban.

Sin binned at the time, Feldt will now be sat on the sidelines for the next three weeks meaning he will miss the Good Friday derby against Wigan Warriors, as well as games against Toulouse Olympique and Hull KR.

He wasn’t the only St Helens man charged as Mark Percival also copped a head contact charge on his return to action, though that was only a Grade B charge meaning he’ll pay a fine and receive three penalty points.

Huddersfield Giants’ youngster Alex Chippendale was handed a Grade C charge worth five points and a fine for dangerous contact, whilst a handful of other players received Grade B charges including Kallum Watkins, Ethan Havard, and Warrington Wolves’ youngster Ewan Smith.

All other players charged received a Grade A charge, worth just one penalty point. A full list of those charged can be seen in the table below.
