Brisbane Broncos outside back Jesse Arthars is the latest NRL name being linked with a move to Super League and it could be to replace a current star.
Jesse Arthars scored 11 in 18 for the Broncos in 2025 and he’s currently scored four in seven this season for a side who are massively underperforming.
Off-contract at the end of the year, the 27-year-old has recently seen a move to the Gold Coast Titans for 2027 fall through and that’s resulted in him eyeing a Super League switch with one team named as a potential landing spot.
Catalans Dragons are considering Arthars according to a report from The Australian with John Cartwright, a former Brisbane Broncos assistant the French side’s coach rigth now.
Cartwright is not contracted for 2027 but should he be involved in recruitment decisions such as targeting Arthars then it would be a strong suggestion that he may well stay in Perpignan beyond the end of the his current deal.
According to reports, Catalans are considering a three-year deal for Arthars, which would be a massive coup given the fact he is certainly good enough to remain in the NRL and is still in his prime years.

Super League centre keen on NRL return
Another possible element of the deal would be that the Australian are also reporting that Catalans’ centre Nick Cotric is keen to return to the NRL.
Cotric is contracted for 2027 but he’s reportedly looking to make the switch back down under and his possible exit would certainly help fuel a move for Arthars, both in terms of cap space, quota space and a positional need.
Since signing for Catalans ahead of the 2025 season, Cotric has played 37 games and scored seven tries with two of those coming in 2026.
Another former Catalans man who has recently returned down under, Iszac Fa’asuamaleaui, has signed with Queensland Cup club Ipswich Jets.
Fa’asuamaleaui returned to Australia to be closer with family as his father, Fereti, sadly passed away after a battle with cancer.
