Super League club ‘ask’ about NRL star Tom Trbojevic with Manly exit possible

Trbojevic linked with Super League

Amid reports that Tom Trbojevic could leave Manly Sea Eagles and make the switch to Super League, the identity of one club ‘asking’ about him has been confirmed.

It was reported earlier in the year that Trbojevic would be ‘open’ to a switch to Super League with the Australian international reportedly unwilling to impact the club’s future given his hefty wages and the pathways behind him.

That was according to the Sydney Morning Herald with the full-back/centre, who is off-contract at the end of the 2026 season, seemingly considering Super League on account of not wanting to play against his beloved Manly.

Those reports were silenced a few weeks later with Trbojevic explaining that he is happy at Manly, however, Australian journalist Danny Weidler has now reported that Tommy Turbo is considering options in Super League and is ‘not happy at Manly’.

Further fuel has been added to the fire as well with rugby league icon Andrew Johns hinting that Warrington Wolves are interested in the 28-year-old.

Warrington Wolves hinted at as destination for Super League-linked Tom Trbojevic

Johns, who had a brief spell with Warrington back in 2005, was speaking on NRL on Nine and argued that a move to Super League would suit Trbojevic, before hinting that Sam Burgess’ side have an interest in the Australian.

“I think it would suit Turbo down to the ground. Fully fit, no one would touch him in Super League,” argued Johns.

Serious About Rugby League has launched a brand new podcast which can be watched in full on our YouTube channel here.

He added: “I know there are clubs that have been asking about him, and have asked me about him. Do the math, the one I played for.

“Fully fit, Turbo would just own it and (be) huge for the Super League. We need more stars going over there.”

One of the key reasons why Trbojevic would be considering a move to Super League is his injury record so it would be a gamble for clubs, although one that could pay off immensely.

In 2025, he has played 18 games and scored six tries but his season is now over with Manly missing out on the NRL play-offs.
