Super League attendance as Hull FC record season-low despite posting round 14 high

Hull FC posted a season-low attendance when they beat Huddersfield Giants at the MKM Stadium on Saturday, however, that 12,057-strong crowd was still the most of any game in Super League round 14.

The Black and Whites snapped their losing run with a 36-12 win over bottom-of-the-table Huddersfield Giants and whilst a crowd of over 12,000 watched on, that still marked the lowest attendance for a Hull FC home game this year in Super League.

Even the round six game at home to Catalans drew a larger crowd but like that game back in March, Hull FC managed to get in the win column.

Other victors this week include Warrington Wolves, who briefly went top of the table on Thursday night as they beat St Helens 18-6 in front of over 11,500 at the BrewDog Stadium.

Wire’s lead atop Super League did not last long as Leeds Rhinos reclaimed top spot on Friday night as they came through an early second half scare to beat Toulouse 48-24 in front of just over 5,500 fans, making that game the lowest attendance of round 14.

Friday also saw Hull KR beat York Knights 38-6 though no official attendance has been reported at the time of writing, whilst Wigan Warriors put Super League on notice with their 48-10 win over Wakefield in front of over 8,000 fans.

The weekend saw Catalans Dragons beat Castleford Tigers 34-28 in the Perpignan sun in front of almost 8,000, whilst more than 8,000 turned out at Odsal where visitors Leigh beat hosts Bradford in a game where Josh Charnley broke the all-time Super League try-scoring record.
