St Helens vs Salford Red Devils predicted line-ups with half-back call made

St Helens boss Paul Wellens pre-match

For the second time in three weeks, St Helens and Salford Red Devils will once again face off in Super League.

The Saints were comfortable winners a fortnight ago, as Kyle Feldt’s four tries on return from injury helped them to a 46-4 win.

Since then, Paul Wellens’ side backed the victory up with another good performance as they beat Leeds Rhinos 18-4.

For Salford, it was yet another heavy defeat for them as they were dismantled by Hull FC.

Here is how we think both sides will line up in Sunday’s fixture.

St Helens Team News:

The return of George Whitby will be a big boost for the Saints. The young halfback failed a HIA in this game two weeks ago, but is all clear to return. That will move utility player Moses Mbye back to an interchange role.

Owen Dagnall, who scored two tries in the victory over the Rhinos last week, did enough for him to warrant staying in the side. The Red Vee are still without Lewis Murphy, who is still over a month away from returning.

St Helens Predicted Team: 6. Tristan Sailor; 2. Kyle Feldt, 26. Harry Robertson, 36. Deon Cross, 30. Owen Dagnall; 7. Jonny Lomax, 27. George Whitby; 8. Alex Walmsley, 9. Daryl Clark, 10. Matty Lees, 12. Curtis Sironen, 16. Matt Whitley; 13. Morgan Knowles.

Subs: 14. Moses Mbye, 18. Jake Wingfield, 19. George Delaney, 21. Noah Stephens.

Salford Red Devils Team News:

Paul Rowley welcomes back Ethan Ryan and Jayden Nikorima into the initial 21. Danny Richardson has joined on a two-week loan from Hull KR and is expected to pair with Nikorima in the halves.

Joe Shorrocks is suspended, whilst Cain Robb and Toby Warren also drop out of the squad.

Salford Red Devils Predicted Team: 1. Ryan Brierley; 2. Ethan Ryan, 17. Esan Marsters, 45. Jonny Vaughan, 23. Chris Hankinson; 6. Jayden Nikorima, 56. Danny Richardson; 18. Jack Ormondroyd, 55. Kobe Rugless, 10. Chris Hill; 22. Matty Foster, 52. Dan Russell, 24. Harvey Wilson.
