St Helens v Leeds Rhinos injury list as 14 players set to miss out on Magic Weekend

St Helens v Leeds Rhinos injury list as Ryan Hall set to return soon

Some big names will be missing from Saturday’s Magic Weekend showdown between St Helens and Leeds Rhinos at St James’ Park in Newcastle.

Leeds have more players unavailable from their top-20 squad, but the good news for them is they could have at least three of their casualties back when Super League resumes in two weeks’ time, following the Challenge Cup semi-final break.

Here’s who’s missing for St Helens and Leeds Rhinos and when they could return to action.

St Helens injury list

Kyle Feldt

The winger, who scored four tries in his first five games for Saints, underwent surgery in March after damaging ligaments in his hand. He is expected back in mid-June.

Konrad Hurrell

The former Rhinos centre is sidelined with a hamstring injury, but is expected to be back in full training in the next week or so.

Joe Batchelor

The second-rower limped off during the Good Friday defeat by Wigan Warriors after injuring a hamstring. He was expected to be sidelined for around two months.

James Bell

The second-row/loose-forward suffered a fractured foot during the Saints’ win against Wakefield Trinity on April 11. He is three to four weeks away from a return.

Harry Robertson

The outside-back has been out of action since suffering a quad muscle injury against Wakefield Trinity. He was expected to be out of action for six to eight weeks.

Leeds Rhinos injury list

Maika Sivo

Leeds’ star wing signing suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury during Ash Handley’s testimonial game against Wigan on January 26 and won’t play a competitive match this year.

Ryan Hall

The veteran winger rolled an ankle against Hull KR last week. He’s expected to be available for Rhinos’ next game, at home to Hull FC on Friday, May 16.

Brodie Croft

The stand-off suffered a hamstring injury during the Rhinos’ defeat at Warrington Wolves on March 28. He’s set to return for Leeds’ next game, at home to Hull in two weeks’ time.

Andy Ackers

The first-choice hooker tore a hamstring against St Helens on March 14 and was expected to be sidelined for up to three months.

Cameron Smith

Rhinos’ loose-forward and co-captain underwent surgery on an ankle injury suffered against Salford on February 22. He is expected back when Leeds play host to Hull FC in two weeks.

Ben Littlewood

The 20-year-old forward underwent surgery on a hamstring injury early in pre-season. He is back running, but no return date has been given.

Ned McCormack

The rookie centre hasn’t played since suffering hamstring damage in the act of scoring against Warrington last July. He has had an operation and could be sidelined for the entire season.

Max Simpson

The centre had hoped to be back on the field in March, for the first time since an anterior cruciate ligament tear in January 2023, but sustained a separate hamstring injury in training and is working back to fitness with no confirmed return date.

Ethan Clark-Wood

The Australian outside-back suffered an ankle syndesmosis late in the reserves’ win against St Helens on March 27. He is expected back on the field within the next two weeks.
