St Helens have confirmed the immediate release of former NRL man and star winger Kyle Feldt with a short statement announcing the news.
Feldt has been out of the team in recent weeks and it had been suggested by the media down under that a return to Australia was on the cards for the 34-year-old, and that has now proven true.
St Helens have released a brief statement to announce the former North Queensland Cowboys man’s exit with personal reasons being cited as why he will leave.
The club announced: “St Helens R.F.C. can confirm that Kyle Feldt has been released from his contract with immediate effect, following a mutual agreement between the player and the Club.”
It brings an end to Feldt’s 18-month spell in England with the veteran winger signing ahead of the 2025 season and going on to make 29 appearances for the club.

Incredibly, Feldt scored tries at a rate of more than one per game with the Australian registering 33 tries in his 29 appearances whilst also kicking 32 goals to take his points tally for the club to 196.
Saints added to their statement: “The Club respects his decision to prioritise personal matters at this time.
“St Helens R.F.C. is committed to supporting the well-being of players and staff at all times, and we thank him for his commitment and wish him the very best for the future.”
As yet, it’s unclear if Feldt will make a playing return down under, as has been suggested by some Australian outlets, but his exit creates both cap space and room for another overseas player on the St Helens books.
