Son of Super League icon one of ten players from six clubs to land Championship loan deal

Most Super League players who aren’t in Challenge Cup action will be enjoying a restful weekend, but for some, they have joined Championship sides in a bid to find game time.

Players from five different clubs have all joined a range of different teams, with the likes of Salford RLFC and Halifax Panthers benefitting.

Starting with Leeds Rhinos, young half-back Harry Smith is one of three players to join Salford. He will be joined by Warrington Wolves pair James Duffy and Isaac Reid.

Duffy made his Super League debut last season, playing twice, and he also competed for Widnes Vikings in 2025.

Castleford Tigers duo, Jenson Windley and Daniel Sarbah, have also joined the Ryan Brierley-led side. Windley has played for the Reds already this season, whilst Sarbah will be making his Championship debut.

St Helens have sent three players to Whitehaven. Cole Marsh, Alfie Sinclair and Luca Walsh will all be in contention for the Cumbrian side’s trip to Swinton Lions.

Huddersfield Giants, who have just confirmed Jim Lenihan as their new head coach, have sent forward Jack Billington on a season-long loan to Widnes Vikings.

Lastly, Will Brough, son of Super League legend Danny, has joined Halifax from Leigh Leopards. In a difference to the rest of the aforementioned loans though, Brough has joined for the season as opposed to just a week.

Brough made his top flight debut in round seven against Warrington, whilst he has featured for both the Panthers and Salford already this year.
