Salford RLFC have confirmed three more signings, including that of a Championship prop, just days before they start their season.
The Championship opener is on Friday night with Salford RLFC hosting Oldham in a game that is sure to attract a large crowd of the Salford faithful.
It’s also been confirmed that a number of former players and staff will be in attendance at the game for what is effectively the rebirth of the club, with Salford only being granted RFL membership on December 22nd.
Since then, the club have launched kits, appointed a coach and signed 15 players with a further three signed on Tuesday, taking their tally to 18, or just enough for a matchday squad including an 18th man.
Plenty of former academy players have signed up to play for the club but Salford RLFC have made one of their bigger signings now by adding a prop from a fellow Championship club.
Salford RLFC add three more
Will Tilleke has signed on a permanent basis with the forward joining from North Wales Crusaders, for whom he had signed back in September ahead of the 2026 season.
Tilleke , 26, came through the system at Widnes Vikings, for whom he played 40 games after debuting back in 2021 and after a brief retirement, he returned to the sport, first signing with North Wales and now with Salford RLFC.
With 40 games for Widnes under his belt, Tilleke will be among the most experienced players in the 18-man Salford squad.
The other recruits that Salford announced were amateur players Reece Stanton and Matthew Ross with their additions taking Mike Grady’s squad to 18 players.
Despite now having enough for a full squad, it’s expected that Salford RLFC will head to the loan market and operate a squad of 20-strong or more.
