Salford RLFC new head coach Mike Grady has spoken for the first time after being confirmed to the role.
Grady, who most recently served as the assistant at Widnes Vikings before taking charge of Salford RLFC Women’s team, has been made head coach with former St Helens academy product Dave Hewitt appointed as his assistant.
The pair will lead the new-look Salford into the Championship season, which starts in just under two weeks with Salford hosting Oldham in the opening fixture on the evening of Friday, 16th January.
More announcements regarding players are expected to come with Salford moving fast, having confirmed Debeau Performance as their kit manufacturer and now appointed their head coach.
A club statement announced Grady’s appointment, reading: “Salford RLFC is delighted to announce the appointment of Mike Grady as the club’s new Head Coach, effective immediately.
“Grady brings more than 12 years of rugby league coaching experience at both club and international levels, having held a variety of roles across the game.”
