Salford RLFC have confirmed three more players that will join their squad ahead of 2026, taking the total number of contracted players to 15.
After announcing their playing squad in batches of four so far, but most of them had ties to the Red Devils in 2025. The new trio have all been poached from elsewhere, with one man coming directly from a Super League academy.
Owen Haldenby has joined from Hull FC, with the forward penning a deal to work feature under for the club now run by Mason Caton-Brown and Ryan Brierley. A member of the Black and Whites’ reserves squad in 2025, he was one of many players to be released by the club at the end of the season. Whilst he never made his senior debut, he was part of the initial squad that was selected to take on York Acorn in the opening round of last season’s Challenge Cup.
Also making the move to Greater Manchester is Joe Hartley, who is so far their oldest and most experienced recruit. At 27, he has featured for Oldham, Rochdale, Workington, Midlands and Whitehaven, and can play at centre or on the wing. In his career so far, he has scored 23 tries in 58 matches.
Finally, Oscar Hansen also joins the club, with the former Wigan Warriors academy talent making the step up from the community game. After featuring for Leigh Leopards’ reserve side a few seasons ago, he has continued to play rugby with amateur side Leigh East. A back row option, Hansen and his side won promotion to the NCL Division Two, after defeating Bentley ARLFC in the play-off final.
