Salford Red Devils v Leigh Leopards team news as Rowley names 19-man squad

Salford Red Devils

Paul Rowley has named a 19-man Salford Red Devils squad to take on Leigh Leopards on Saturday evening. The Red Devils return to the Salford Community Stadium this weekend to take on the in-form Leopards who have included new signing Joe Ofahengaue in their squad as expected.

Salford stars have reportedly been paid and although there is still uncertainty around a number of players, the hope is that the club will be able to kick on and find some stability before too long.

Rowley has been able to pick a fairly stable squad for this one with just two players coming in and one dropping out. Matty Foster is the man to drop out, with Sam Davis stepping into the fold in his place for what would be just his second appearance since moving from London Broncos.

Toby Warren has been named in the side, too, alongside five loanees in the shape of Tiaki Chan, George Hill, Jonny Vaughan, Jake Thewlis and Harvey Makin.

As mentioned above, Adrian Lam has named Ofahengaue in the squad despite the forward being due to arrive at the club on Friday. Whether he plays or not remains to be seen but Alec Tuitavake’s absence is noted and could potentially play a factor.

Edwin Ipape is banned and won’t play this week, while David Armstrong is carrying a quad issue and misses out as well. Nathan Wilde and Louis Brogan come in with Lam making three changes to the group.
