Salford Red Devils host St Helens hoping to avoid the same fate as Round One when they lost 82-0 and the team news has now been confirmed.

Paul Rowley fielded a team littered with academy players that day as the Red Devils waited for their restricted salary cap to be lifted in the aftermath of their new owners been confirmed.

Unable to field his full-strength team, Rowley fielded the kids who were routed by St Helens with NRL signing Tristan Sailor putting on a show as he scored four tries.

Salford’s salary cap still remains in place and several stars have left since then whilst St Helens have shown glimpses of that performance but also had torrid patches of form.

The pressure will be on to land another statement victory despite the injury issues that St Helens are facing and we’ve now learned how Paul Wellens will reshuffle his squad based on those absent players.

As such, three of Paul Wellens’ starting backs are out but there was hope as Kyle Feldt was named to the 21-man squad. The NRL veteran does return and starts on the wing whilst it’s Sailor who moves to full-back.

Owen Dagnall starts on the opposite wing with Deon Cross and Harry Robertson in the centres.
