Salford Red Devils have struggled for bodies in 2025 but they’ve opted to send one of their more experienced forwards out on a dual registration deal.
Paul Rowley’s side have typically been the team bringing in loanees, as opposed to sending them out. However, that’s what has happened with prop forward Joe Bullock leaving the club on a dual registration deal with Championship side Barrow Raiders.
Bullock looks set to play for the Raiders against Bradford Bulls on Sunday, reuniting with his former club for a second time this season.
He had joined on a loan deal earlier this year but that was cut short due to a leg injury that he sustained in the 37-12 win against Widnes Vikings back in Round Six.
That saw him return to Salford Red Devils but he has played just twice since then, appearing in the recent defeats against Wigan Warriors and Hull FC.
Joe Bullock leaves Salford Red Devils on dual reg deal
Having played in two of the last three games, it looked like Bullock was getting some consistent minutes for the Red Devils but Salford have chosen to send him out to their dual reg partners in the Championship.
A brief statement from the Super League side confirmed: “Joe Bullock has rejoined Barrow Raiders on a dual-reg loan for this weekend’s game against Bradford Bulls.”
The Raiders also confirmed the move for their former player, who made over 100 appearances for them between 2014 and 2018.
Director of Rugby Andy Gaffney said: “We are pleased to welcome Joe back to the group this week.
“His loan spell was cut short earlier in the year, but we are all aware of the qualities he brings to the squad and the different he can make in tight games.
“I’d like to thank Paul Rowley and everyone at Salford for enabling this move to happen.”

Salford shouldn’t be allowed to send players out on loan while having to loan players in to raise a team. Kick em out of R.L.
