The decision on the future of Salford Red Devils has being pushed back once again, in what is the third time the meeting has been adjourned.
The club currently face a winding-up order from HMRC, after unpaid bills has seen them amass over a reported £700,000 worth of debt.
Their first meeting was due to take place in May, but that initial date was adjourned until the start of September.
It was then postponed again, with the hearing set to take place today, October 29, however the club have now released a statement saying the meeting did not take place.
The club have been given a two-week adjournment, which according to the club, provides “additional time in which to secure the necessary funds.”
As we have seen with the Salford club across the year, promises of funds from the owners have been made, but they have failed to provide any sort of clarity as to where and when the money will come from
This season has been the worst in the club’s history, with over a dozen players exiting throughout 2025 either due to the poor communication from the owners or to try and help the club save money.
Earlier this month was boss Paul Rowley depart, as he moved to St Helens on a three-year deal to replace Paul Wellens.
Should the money come through, in what will now be the fourth time of asking – May, September, October and now November – the Red Devils will play in the Championship next year, after their drop in IMG gradings saw them fall out of Super League.
The club statement reads in full:
“Salford Red Devils can confirm that HMRC have granted the club a two-week adjournment, providing additional time in which to secure the necessary funds.”
“We would like to reassure supporters that we are working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure a positive resolution.”
“Further updates will be shared as soon as possible.”

These owners’ definition of “working tirelessly behind the scenes” should be taken with a shovelful of salt but they must be so full of sh*t and shame that they must be permanently constipated and the HMRC must be incredibly naive or really stupid to believe anything that these fraudsters come out with.
We await with amazement for the 12/13th November, when inevitably the 🪓 will fall.

The mayors of both Salford and Manchester are very upset because they both now realise that nobody gives a sh*t about what they think !

There’s more chance of England beating Australia than Salford getting any funding from their owners.
And England have got no f*****g chance.
