Salford Red Devils have been hit with another injury blow after sending one of their forwards out on dual registration.
Joe Bullock has spent the last week on loan at Barrow Raiders following Salford’s salary cap issues.
He made his second debut for the Raiders in their game against Widnes Vikings but fell to the floor when defending his own line.
It’s now been confirmed that the forward has suffered a leg injury and will be out for two months.
Speaking to Cumbria’s The Mail, Barrow coach Paul Crarey said: “It is a massive blow not only for us, but for Joe and Salford.
“We were all looking forward to him playing against London before our home fans, who took him to their hearts when last with us.”
The Salford Red Devils forward joined the side back in October 2024 after a stint on loan at Salford from Warrington Wolves.
He spent four years at the Raiders from 2014 to 2018, making 124 appearances before a Super League move to Wigan Warriors and then Warrington.
Salford Red Devils have support from Raiders boss following RFL restrictions
Crarey also had some sympathy for the Red Devils’ situation and Bullock’s injury is just another issue added to their ever-growing list.
He added: “I also feel sorry for my good friend, Salford coach Paul Rowley, who has also lost him for that eight-week period.
“With Salford under restrictions until the RFL confirms the takeover of the club, Rowley has had to slash his salary cap and has lost some of his top players to other clubs.”
Salford Red Devils and Barrow Raiders announced their dual-registration partnership back in November last year and recently sent youngster Jamie Pye there too.
Pye was then recalled by the Red Devils in place of Bullock, playing against Leeds Rhinos last weekend.
However, he failed his HIA test and will sit out Salford’s trip to Catalans Dragons on Saturday night.
Following his injury, Bullock will return to Salford to rehab the injury.
