Salford Red Devils have signed a fourth player on loan ahead of their Round 15 Super League clash with Hull FC.
It’s been a busy week for Salford with one player leaving but four have come in as Paul Rowley hopes to bolster his squad in the second half of the season.
Sam Stone was the player to leave as he headed to Warrington and that saw PNG international Dan Russell and young talent Tom Whitehead head the other way.
The Red Devils then surprised everyone by signing Kobe Rugless on loan from Championship side Hunslet, however, the Parksiders have since hit out at Salford and accused them of speaking with the hooker without their ‘consent or involvement’.
The RFL have commented on the matter, simply stating: “The RFL received – and approved – loan forms submitted by Salford and signed by all parties, including Hunslet, on Thursday prior to the noon deadline in the usual way.”
Now though, Cain Robb has become the fourth loanee with the Castleford Tigers man signing a two-week loan deal.
Castleford Tigers hooker makes loan move to Salford Red Devils
That was confirmed by both Castleford and Salford with the 22-year-old in line to play this week against Hull FC.
Salford will name their squad for that game at midday today (Friday) with all four new loan recruits expected to feature against the Black and Whites.
Robb has found games hard to come by in 2025 with Liam Horne and the recently released Judah Rimbu playing ahead of him, as well as recent Salford recruit Chris Atkin.
Salford have previously had Castleford youngster George Hill on loan before his recall.
Speaking on the move, Robb said: “I can’t wait to get into training and meet all the squad and staff. I’m so grateful for the opportunity Salford are giving me and I am excited to meet all the fans at the weekend!”
In total, Robb has 32 appearances in Super League with the majority coming at nine meaning that when Joe Mellor returns, he can feature in the halves which would be a major boost.
We are excited to confirm the addition of Cain Robb on a two-week loan from @CTRLFC! 💪
