Following his exit from Hull FC, prop Will Gardiner may have thought his time in Super League was up. However, he has now been given a second crack at the top flight.
Making his Black and Whites debut in 2022, the forward represented the West Hull side 32 times, with 18 of those coming in FC’s injury-ravaged 2024 season.
Spells to Championship clubs Doncaster and Featherstone has seen him remain match fit this year, as well as playing in the club’s reserve grade set-up.
However, he was not offered new terms under John Cartwright, and will now ply his trade elsewhere.
Bradford Bulls will be his next destination, with the newly-promoted Super League outfit offering him a two-year deal.
Having already made a plethora of signings ahead of their top flight return, the West Hull amateur will link up with established Super League players Andy Ackers, Rowan Milnes and Ethan Ryan in making the move to Odsal.
Bradford Bulls sign released Hull FC man as first words revealed
Speaking on the move, Gardiner is proud to have earned an opportunity at a club with such prestige and prior success as Bradford.
He said: “I’m buzzing to have signed at this great club, I can’t wait to pull the jersey on and get in front of the fans they are a really loyal group. It’s obviously a massive club with a rich history and a loyal fan base and that really attracted me to the Bulls.
“After having a chat with Kurt and hearing the way he wants to play with the group of players we are building, it really suits me and my game.
Describing his style of play, the 24-year-old hopes that he will be able to develop and kick on at the Bulls, perhaps even earning a regular first team spot.
He said: “I like to think I am a hard-working player and I’ll do the tough stuff that is needed, I like to think I can bring a physicality to the team and play big minutes.
“I still have loads to improve on, I am only young but I am really hungry, I want to play first team rugby and I can’t wait to bring my style to the Bulls.
