Released Catalans Dragons man and former Hull KR full-back makes Championship move

Following his release from Catalans Dragons, full-back Tanguy Zenon has now found a new club for 2026, and will play his trade in the Championship.

The 23-year-old only managed to make five appearances for the Perpignan club, with his debut coming in 2022. This year, he featured only once, with that game coming in a shock victory to Leeds Rhinos at the back-end of the season.

Zenon has also spent time on loan at Hull KR, doing so in 2023. Playing three games for the Robins, he made an immediate impact, scoring a try on debut in a Challenge Cup win over Salford Red Devils.

At the end of this season, he was one of over a dozen players confirmed to be exiting the Stade Gilbert Brutus, and did so alongside some big names in Luke Keary, Tevita Pangai Jr and Elliot Whitehead.

A two-time French international, he will feature in the Championship next year, after penning a one-year deal with Halifax Panthers.

The West Yorkshire outfit, who are currently led by former St Helens and Leeds man Kyle Eastmond, enjoyed a semi-final appearance in this year’s play-offs, and have already looked to strengthen their side by bringing in other young Super League talent such as Alfie Johnson and Daniel Okoro.

Alongside those incomings, the club have announced key retentions for players such as David Nofoaluma, Jacob Fairbank and Ben Crooks as they aim to retain their place in the second tier play-off places next time around.
